After qualifying as a psychotherapist, I worked in GP surgeries as a primary care counsellor for some years, then as a psychotherapist in the Crisis Intervention Service at the Royal London Hospital, and later as a consultant psychotherapist in Central & North West London NHS Trust, where I worked for 13 years, offering individual and group psychotherapy and supervising colleagues. I have run my private practice, offering individual, group therapy and couples therapy, for 20+ years. I also offer clinical supervision and reflective practice groups for professionals. My goal is to provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their inner selves and overcome personal challenges.
I began my career with a degree in Social Psychology at Sussex University, after which I worked in a number of mental health settings, including therapeutic communities, day and residential care, where I developed my interest and understanding in the origins of mental health problems.
After exploring various types of therapy I was most drawn to the psychoanalytic approach as I feel it is the most compassionate and effective way to help people to overcome deeply entrenched emotional problems.
I trained as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the British Association of Psychotherapists, and later as a group analyst at the Turvey Institute of Group Analytic Psychotherapy.
